Morey
has always loved a good story. While growing up in the small
Canadian town of Newcastle, New Brunswick, he wrote many
published short stories, from the poignant
Mister Tim to the
humorous
Would the
Person Who Invented Camping Please Stand Up. Between the
ages of twelve and nineteen, he played guitar in a rock band and
appeared on TV shows such as Top Ten Plus. For that period he
turned his writing skills to songwriting, and the group played
the wealth of original material that he produced.
His first
novel, The Artist’s Touch, won an
international literary award.
R.G. Williscroft, Ph.D., the
President of the International Literary Awards wrote: “The
Artist’s Touch is brilliantly conceived and written. It
combines a first rate sense of dramatics with the ability to
tell a superbly effective and unforgettable story. The action
is excellently staged with telling effect. Even the supporting
characters come through with an emotional sweep. The
Artist’s Touch has a magnetic quality.”
Morey’s
second novel, Cape Enrage,
shows his beloved coast at its best…and its worst. Katherine Kidde of the Kidde, Hoyt & Picard Literary Agency in New York
City said this about the novel: “Cape
Enrage is a
sophisticated, suspenseful novel full of subtlety and fine
touches.”
